No plastic bag, no no no.

Went for a huge shopping with family at Jusco Seberang perai.

My family has a weird trend, we only shop once a month, or every 2 months. So for every “stock buying” day, the trolley will be filled until it is full.

DSC02144

Maybe was in Cyberjaya for too long, I don’t know that the whole Penang is having a very large scale anti plastic bag campaign, participated by all major hypermarkets. All the items in trolley being carry home without taking any plastic bag.

If want plastic bag, pay 20 cents lo~ Since 6th July 2009, every Monday is no plastic day, and saved more than 1,000,000 plastic bags. (The day we went is not Monday, maybe they expanded the days)

I love this new Penang government.

ExxonMobil Visitation

That day (Thu 13th Aug), applied half day leave from my boss, to visit to ExxonMobil.

Early morning 7:30am borrowed Bobby’s car to ExxonMobil headquarter at KLCC. The event start at 8:45am, thanks to GPS, I reached there just in time with minor traffic jam.

Was lead to Level 9, and had a brief introduction of ExxonMobil, their history in worldwide and Malaysia, and the IT Department of ExxonMobil. Only I knew that, ExxonMobil is the Most PROFITABLE COMPANY last year, even during financial crisis. (What I think is, financial crisis is bullshit~)

Was showing around by this Mr., forgot his name, but he is cool.

After the tour, we were led to Trader Hotel for buffet lunch. Really impressive lunch, with food around the world, like Japanese, Middle-East, Chinese, etc.

Japanese sushi~ I was full at that time, can’t eat much. Since is paid by ExxonMobil, so don’t too force myself, still need to drive back alone, dangerous to drive with full stomach.

Still can get back Cyberjaya in time, to continue my internship work at 2:45pm~

IT in ExxonMobil is not base on development of software, but on using the best software that can minimize carbon footprint, and also maximize profit and customer satisfaction.

It responsible to explore, and persuade the company to change to better software or hardware, and maintain it.

Started My First Vegetarian Journey~

After read a magazine about the benefit of vegetarian, and "how bad" is meat consumer, I decided to give a try for vegetarian for a month, or 30 days.

Some think vegetarian as self torture, or to return wishes, but the benefit behind it is so big.

Will update you all about it from time to time~

Please, everyone, if you saw me take or order something with meat, stop me~

Green Green Green!

Today is the last day of Green Club's Green Week, yea!

I am totally GREEN for today, from green contact lens, green shirt, to green under (er...), and doing green job. I am GREEN. Trying to take a photo of green contact lens, but very not obvious in photo. But just for today, as the lens is 1 day use only, free sample, and also my first soft lens experience.

Realize that I never post anything about this Green Week, so here I will briefly talk about it. Actually this Green Week is to promote Green Club to the campus, and based on the theme 3R Campaign, which is Reuse, Reduce, and Recycle.

For the past few days we collected a huge amount of recyclable items like paper, plastic bottles, CDs and aluminum cans, from our booth at Central Plaza, lecturers at respective faculty offices, and also fellow students who stay in hostel block.

I felt the coolest part of this campaign is the Petition.

Very tired, still need to do recycle after class until late. See this 2 boys who still don't grow up, so happy~

Save our planet, reuse, reduce, recycle.

I try to help, although not much.

2 days ago, I read an articles in library, and the sentence struck me:

Current university students don't equip with these 3 qualities:

- care of this world;
- make own judgement;
- have moral courageous (or means take moral action)

What they know is to study hard, get a god damn good result. Even parents also encourage them in the wrong way.

You just need to study hard, the rest don't care.

Later at home, I knew that I didn't read news for a long time. And when enter TheStar.com.my, the headline make me want to cry!

On May 2nd, Myanmar was facing suck a big disaster, 22500 people dead, 40000 missing, and increasing, while I don't know anything until 7th May! And no one talk about it too!

When the exam approaching, no one ever give a damn to radio, news, media. I know this time I have to do something to help out.

Thanks for Eddy tips, I donated RM100 to the rescue fund for Myanmar Cyclone.

How can I help?
1. Pray for them;
2. Volunteer to help out, locally or remotely;
3. Donation.

How to make Donation?
I send my money to World Vision, using Postal Order (Wang pos).
1. Go any POS Office branch, ask for the amount you need.
2. At front, write down "World Vision Malaysia Bhd".
3. At back, write personnel information and "Myanmar Cyclone".
4. On envelop, send to

World Vision Malaysia
PO BOX 8171,
Kelana Jaya,
46783 Petaling Jaya,
Selangor.

Beside World Vision, The Star and Mercy Malaysia also collecting donation for Myanmar Cyclone Nargis.

This is an emergency, low on food, medicine, clean water, and love.

Earth Hour : See the different you can make.

I am participating in this campaign, just make this post simple.

What is Earth Hour?
Earth Hour is a Global Awareness Campaign towards Global Warming that becoming severe.

How?
Tomorrow night, 29th March, 2008, from 8pm to 9pm, switch off all the power in your house, easy.

About Earth Hour (**from EarthHour.org)

On March 31 2007, for one hour, Sydney made a powerful statement about the greatest contributor to global warming – coal-fired electricity – by turning off its lights. Over 2.2 million Sydney residents and over 2,100 businesses switched off, leading to a 10.2% energy reduction across the city. What began as one city taking a stand against global warming caught the attention of the world.

In 2008, 24 global cities will participate in Earth Hour at 8pm on March 29. Earth Hour is the highlight of a major campaign to encourage businesses, communities and individuals to take the simple steps needed to cut their emissions on an ongoing basis. It is about simple changes that will collectively make a difference – from businesses turning off their lights when their offices are empty, to households turning off appliances rather than leaving them on standby.

Personnel Thought:
I am very small. I consume only a small portion energy of this world. I contribute a small amount of Carbon Dioxide to atmosphere.

And I caused Global warming.

I turn off power usage. I walk instead drive. I recycle and minimize plastic usage.

And I fight Global warming.

Hope people can join this campaign, just 1 hour.

First time Flight, alone.

Actually I didn't purposely want to fly alone, just because the free ticket that same flight with my friend was sold out. I got the options to come back by bus, or book other flight.

1110
So I choose to fly, because last time fly with friends who all are pro, so I just follow, got no chance to learn... This time, learn myself~

From ticket booking, slip printing, boarding pass, I read through manual and FAQ, some ask Su. My flight was 1110 in the morning.

Clock at KLIA Transit station, 9:15am, still early.

While reach KLIA, I ask for the LCCT shuttle's location at information counter, it's at Level 1.

Reached LCCT, just nice timing! Can check in lo!

See MMU? Click to enlarge.

I will only take flight when bus tickets sold out during CNY or free tickets from AirAsia, but free tickets doesn't mean TOTALLY FREE, but just need to pay for taxes and administration fees only, still cost RM43 from KL to Penang. Actually fly alone is not difficult, just I always forget the process.

This is just an experience to learn. Take bus better, save kilograms of Carbon Dioxide emission, good for environment and reduce Global Warming effect~ haha.

For Charity, for her dream.

HcFoo, one of my blogger friend, is a big fan of the world class tennis player, Rafael Nadal. By end of this year, an international tennis match will be held in Malaysia(Visit Malaysia Year 2007!!!) in Malaysia Independence Tennis Festival, and she is going to meet her idol!!

How she do that?
Wow, she is a cool girl! Of course, the organizer won't easily let her meet Nadal 1 on 1, so to achieve that dream, she had launched a campaign to collect support from bloggers, friends, and even anonymous. And when the support number is enough, she will propose to the organizer.

Why should help her?
This is not only for her own sake. By every support she collected, she promised to donate RM 1 to the charity organization, which organization she will decide later.

Cool... How to help her?
By just visit her post about the campaign, and leave a comment, with keywords 'Vamos VMY2007', plus a valid link back to a valid blog or website. For every successful comment, she will donate RM 1. If possible, please forward this campaign on your blog too.

example comment:
Hcfoo, you rocks!(optional)
Vamos VMY2007 (compulsory)

Targeted comments: 200
Who can support: Bloggers from all over the world
Closing date for comments: 7.59 p.m., 20 November 2007 or targeted comments achieved.
