Day 1 at The Land Under the Wind

I don’t know how to start, or where to start. This Sabah trip had been planned for more than 3 months, with a sudden crazy thought out of no where: “Let’s go climb Mount Kinabalu.” Hoho, I just wanted to do something crazy before I graduate!

Did quite a lot of serious research, accommodation, transport, place of interest, price, booking, Google Earth and Google Map, GPS coordinate, equipments bla bla bla, finally it’s 7th January 2010~ hoho~

FYI, Sabah, which most other country known as Borneo, has a fancy name, The Land Under The Wind.

4 of us: Me, Bobby, Kelvin, and Nana. Woke up at 6am, trying to wake up Eddy to fetch us to Putrajaya Central… In the end we took bus there (Eddy slept dead d)

So, skipped those parts from on train to LCCT and breakfast, and finally, we are on the plane!

DSC02208
Even this is not the first time I travel by plane, but the feeling of force changes when the plane took off still makes me feel excited. This time is a 2 hours journey, I already finished reading the magazine, and slept.

Finally landed. Oh? Even Malaysian visit to Sabah requires permit! We are allow to be in Sabah for 3 months only, just like travel to other country, except without passport.

DSC02215
First thing is to rent a cheap car. The price is quite expensive than Langkawi car rental, we rented a manual Kancil for RM90 a day, ouch. At least still cheaper than taking cab everywhere.

DSC02225
So now I know, SAA cars are from Sabah… Seen a lot in Cyberjaya, don’t know how they carry here.

DSC02747
To cut cost, we lodge in 1 of the backpackers lodge located at Gaya Street. Have to say, I love their services and their friendly people!!!

DSC02230
The resting area of X-Plorer.

Makan Makan Makan!
One of the purpose of travel is to eat. Was quite excited to check out the local food, wish it’s special to us.

DSC02237
A Malay stall, in a Chinese shop. This is really rare in Penisular. But at Sabah, this is very common. In fact, I can’t really differentiate Malay, local Bumiputra, and Illegal Philippines, yes, there have a lot of plilippinos, illegally.

DSC02239
Sabah Mee Rojak. Super nice, till I can remember the taste when I typing this.

DSC02244
Beautiful Mosque. Available a lot of mosques and church in Kota Kinabalu.

We visited Sabah Museum. The only thing that impressed me is the 16m huge whale skeleton. Sadly, no camera allowed. But overall, I feel their museum has more real things than here, which only keep replicas…

Next, we need to confirm about the boat to Island hopping on next day, so we went to Sutera harbour. Sutera Harbour Resort is the giant player in tourism, they have business at Kinabalu Park, Poring Hot Spring, and also Mount Kinabalu, damn, I hate monopolize.

DSC02253
But undeniable, this is the most beautiful port I ever seen in my life. (Maybe I never visit to other places, so for now, it’s the most beautiful~)

DSC02256
Wish I own 1 of the boat behind~

DSC02259
The sea water is so clear, with a lot of fishes in there.

DSC02264
Fishieeeee!!

DSC02260
Mr Kelvin wants to eat fish.

DSC02265
Awesome…

DSC02271

After checked out the price and timetable, and damn lots of photo, we leaved. To makan again~

Market
Market is the place where we can see a lot of local things: people, their pattern, their economy, their FOOD etc. It’s a market consisted of wet market, vegetable market, and delicacy market, sluppp~~
DSC02279
Selling food. This looks like the Putrajaya Stall during Fasting Month. Good thing is, most of their things are damn cheap.

While we walk around, suddenly I saw this super giant alien prawn! It’s big right? Later on still have bigger and scarier one! They purposely arrange the giant prawn at the corner, and can see every tourist who pass by will have the same WTF look. Funny~ Prawn is expensive, RM18 for 1.

DSC02284
Philippine kids playing at rubbish dumpsite. This scene is so normal there, and most probably, they are children without proper identity, means no birth certificate, because of their illegal immigrant parents.

DSC02294
Poor scene. But our parents time is also playing like this gua~

DSC02291
Beautiful sunset…

Our dinner are big fish, prawn, and sotong.

DSC02308
Nana with a RM3 coconut. 3 persons share.

DSC02311
Pasar Malam (aka Night market). Nothing special, with a lot of Gucci, Nike, Adidas, LV, you know la, all replicas….

Back to our room…
DSC02305
From second floor view. Bobby and naked Nana. The room structure is very special, has 2 storey, second floor need to climb a 75 degree stairs, geli.

DSC02314

My night is to swallow 2 cans of beer, watch a funny comedy, then slept nicely till the next morning. First day passed very fast, quite satisfy one.

Stay tune to Day 2.

2010

This is the 3rd day of 2010.

While writing this post, I paused at the first line for a while, don’t know what to write actually.

Look back in 2009, is like roller coaster of my life. There are so many ups and downs, and same like roller coaster, I can’t control if I am going down, or going up. Just as relationship…

But 2009 is the year I tried out most things, visited most places, do most things.

I always have a stupid thought: I wish I can visit some new place with someone special. This really motivate me to work harder, so hard, and the end, I realized I still standing at the same spot. This thinking is just too naive.

For worst things that happened in 2009, I try to swim up the source to find out what is the cause; but what I realized, no one is wrong. If there is, it will be my personality, who only knows to keep going, without realize when to stop, sorry.

Obviously, my 2009 resolution wish is not achieve… Will bring forward to 2010: I wish I meet someone so special who will appreciate me.

Always be positive to future, and again, don’t easily give up, else will regret forever. Jia you~

Picture!!

“Picture!” This is the most common word I heard in Casino, means J, Q and K cards, which when combined with an Ace, will get you blackjack~

Yesterday is my first time enter Casino in my life. While I was still 20, I made joke that I will wait outside Genting Casino entrance before 12:00am of my birthday, and straight go in when I am 21, but never able to do that. haha.

With Su, Sotong, and Sam, we departed early morning to Genting Highland. Recall the last time I been there is already 3 years ago.

DSC01904
Went up by cable car. Remember 3 years ago, Digi has no signal on there, now they already can advertise on cable car.

DSC01907
Highland Hotel

Kena checked…
As expected, police who guarded the entrance checked my IC, twice, out of 3 enters. Not really a bad news thought, means I have 66.67% young look, and 33.33% mature~ wahaha

First experience is always memorable. The machine “piut piut blink blink” sound, the gamblers shouting, and the grand interior design.

Not really a gambling kaki, I just want to have some special life experience. Seeing Su and Sotong playing, I was just walking around check out each table and game play.

No photo is allow in there. Sotong threatened me, said if I took photo, 2 black shirt big muscle guy will come and pull me go “drink coffee”.

DSC01905
This is the only photo I got in there [;)] where everyone who sit on it will eventually turn into zombie. They sitting there for hours, starring at the screen, with only 1 finger moving. I call it the dumb box.

The people
Few parties in there:

Police – need not me to mention much, you know what they do.

Dealer – Genting stuffs who can count cards like computer speed, and arrange card like a machine.

Player aka investor – consist 99% of casino people. Mostly aunty and uncle in the upper middle age up to grandpa/grandma level. Able to spend RM500 like RM50.

Their Expression
I wasn’t play at all, but enjoy the environment in there. Looking at those uncle/aunty face, some winning face, some losing face, mostly dumb face.

Some act pandai(clever), will tell other gambler how to play, but lose at the end; some will think they know statistic by jotting down every number every round, but actually it is just randomness.

DSC01906
This is the RM100 chip.

Wasn’t playing any, as I am in budget tight shit. Remember my friend Eric, the all-round gambler told me: “If you got no money, don’t gamble, never assume gamble can make you rich.”

Guess I am just not good at trying luck.

Spent almost half day in the casino. The whole day was recalling the scene in the movie ‘21’(Blackjack).

Really missing the cool breeze up there. Haiz, back to reality, I just got assigned new task to continue my internship’s Joukuu project.

image

A Facebook Quiz

7:03pm, still hanging in office cracking my head to let the program run perfectly. Today has a big progress in development, haha.

At 6:30, relax a while, login Facebook, steal some fruits, and found a quiz, never expect much on this quiz. The title is: Find out your weakness using your 6th sense.

Sound interesting, and did it.

The answer I got:
你心裏的弱點是死亡。但不是你自己的死亡,而是你最親密的人的死亡。因為你的感情依賴度非常高,尤其對父母、配偶、兄弟姐妹。當不幸發生後,你將無法承受。...

"Your weakness is Death, but not your personal death, but the people around you. Your relationship dependence very high, especially to parents, lover, siblings. If unfortunately anything happened to them, you may not be able to accept it..."

I know it is just a quiz, even if the answer is random, but this one totally accurately describe what I scare most in my life.

Suddenly I felt very scare and worry. The feeling of losing people I care so much is really really torturing me... Starring at the screen, I don't know what to do.

My Recently Story.

Skip the work part, I wanted to write something about the photos I took in these few months.

DSC01035
This is the kitten who temporary stay at my house for 2 weeks during the break. According to Hao Ming, she jumped over my head while I am sleeping, 100 times per night. But she is cute, only during sleeping.

She used to sleep on bed, so my roommate Chicken Wing need to sleep on the floor.

DSC01081
This is my roommate, Chicken Wing. He slept on the mattress, while I slept on the floor, with the purple-yellow square pillow. One night I woke up, the walk to my desk to check out the time, when turn back, he is on my pillow! All happen in 15 seconds.

DSC01074
Chicken Wing with his casing-less PC. (Of course, later he get a casing for it) Don’t ask me why call him Chicken Wing.

DSC01090
Seriously, the last time I ate durian, is before I enter foundation. Very miss durian!!!~ Don’t forget to drink some salt water after durian, it really helps to reduce heat.

DSC01093
Bought a new water bottle. The old one spoiled 2 months ago, been using a mineral water bottle for some time, had cumulated some toxic in my body. Love this bottle~

DSC01094
Kim with his Homemade-Onion-Potato-Mushroom-Tomato-Vegetarian Spaghetti. Very satisfy one, so big portion.

These few days learn 1 thing: When there is a reason for you to protect, you become so strong, yet, you become so weak…

Jia you!
