Finally

Finally, I completed my FYP.

FYP is Final Year Project, a term that widely used in MMU, but most local university prefer the term, thesis.

And I believe, most people hate it. (right?)

This project had been started since last year November 2009, duration until April 2010, about 7 months of planning and implementation, which I learned A LOT A LOT A LOT A LOT A LOT x 10000.

Project successfully implemented on time, with most expected features. When I submitted it just now, a sudden feeling of emptiness in my mind. Not because I had nothing to do anymore, but this project already took about 85% of my brain capacity, and I need time to get balance.

Computer was my best friend, my primary language become C#, sometimes woke up at 8am with the whole brain full of codes and algorithm, ish.

I can’t remember the last time what movie I watched… I can’t remember when is the last time I walk in a mall… I can’t remember when I got haircut, I can’t remember when I back hometown…

(actually I do remember, just the time is too long~)

This project, makes me realized that everyone has weakness. I have my weakness, you have your weakness, and I shall not assume everyone has the skill that I have.

To my FYP partner leekian, sorry for some quarrel during this project, I learned my lessons, and thanks for your all kind of support, directly or indirectly, you do did a great job. I did promise will score A for this project, and I can see we really tried our best, thank you to make this project complete on time, the rest is up to the moderator and supervisor. Thanks again to be my partner.

So, FYP completion present came early. I bought a new Seba iGoR skates for myself, and train hard to get to Korea for my first big competition~ (hopefully)

DSC03160

Congratulation to everyone who completed the FYP on time (and myself). I need to slowly get back my life!

I am Noob

After watched the REAL Slalom Performance from SEBA Team... I am totally noob.

The Inline Slalom Demo was held at One Utama Shopping Complex. Organized by Skateline, they invited the Seba team from France, Singapore, UK etc to give a demo of inline slalom. I saw a lot famous faces like Naomi, Sebastian, Terrence and others.

 DSC06417
I am so happy, I met Terrence here~ He is Singapore Slalom pro. Thanks to him, I found my wife~ He is real pro wei!

 DSC06416
And SEBAstian(the TALLEST guy at the right)! Oh no I touched his sweaty shirt, don't want to wash my hand for 1 month liao!

I think I need 100 years to be like them.

*Sebastian is the team manager of Seba team, and also a slalom skate designer. I am wearing his product, so excited!

While watching the performance, I feel my legs are lifting with the rhythm. I asked Hao do he feel that, him too! SO eager to try out slalom with them!

There are few types of Inline skate disciplines, but I love slalom. Maybe I feel it is safe. (at least LOOK safer than aggressive and downhill) And the ability to maneuver through the cones with spins and balances are just too cool and elegant.

**thanks to Sue Ern who took the video for me.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

After the demo, we went for dinner. At a restaurant with Hong Kong theme, guess. (related with Ah Wong from TVB Drama)

DSC06422
Ordered spaghetti, my favorite. (the drink is not mine, I just hold it for photo only~)

Xuan Hao was very hungry. He ate very fast, and almost the first one to finish his meal. Suddenly, he shouted.

DSC06426
^%$#@!#$%*&

Damn. I want to see your manager.

Since he was very hungry, he requested to fried 1 more plate for him. The rest of us quickly do a brief scan in our meal, haha, find nothing, lucky. But it still use the same wok to cook one... T T

The day I was very HAPPY.

Half of Semester gone.

Cry~~ My skate ar!!

After the Putrajaya skates, I realized that my skate's cuff has a weird feeling, feel like less support, and difficult to tighten it.

After inspected it, oh no!!

DSC03423
See the difference between left and right? Yes, the silver button(or the right term is Cuff Button Axles) that use to tightened the cuff to the boot was gone! Must be loosen half way while enjoying skates!

I searched Google for help, and only returned an online shop that selling my skates' spare part, it's call EndLessRoll, tag with about RM50 without delivery charge yet! Damn!

Lucky...
I asked Terence, a Singaporean slalom skaters where to get the replacement for the Cuff Button Axles, and realized that Singapore is selling at only 2 SGD. EndLessRoll really con people!

Terence, which he so kind to send me a replacement, without any charge. I really appreciate that, really, thanks.

After I receive the cuff button, let's slalom!

Some personal:
Today so happy, very happy. Why? Happy need only a simple reason.

SNS at Lake Garden

This is the largest SNS we ever been! With total of ... er, 15 persons shown up?

guys from MMU are Me, Su, Hao, Ben, Kok, and ... should we count Eddy in?

Pre skate pic, MMU rocks!

I realized I didn't took much picture during the skate, as the terrain is quite sloppy, UP and DOWN, UP and DOWN,.

And at the almost the last round, I don't know which part went wrong, and I felt.

DSC02481
Some minor scratch, no pain no gain, haha~

In such a high speed downhill skate, and I only have minor scratch on right hand and left palm, is very lucky indeed. People too wonder why so minor only? No injured on knees.

I am getting Pro in falling, hehe.

Looking forward for the next SNS in Putrajaya, we will skating with Singapore Skateline Members!

People said bleeding on birthday is not a good sign, but it's lucky if compare to serious injury.

SNS going wrong.

So long time never join the gang for SNS, Saturday Night Skates.

Yesterday's SNS was at Kepong. Depart from Cyberjaya with Xuan Hao, Su, and Hao, heading to TTDI Skateline.

However, the god damn weather just know where we want and what time we going to skate, it will just rain at the moment! Every time! Thus SNS CANCELLED. The location is in a car park, which I assume is a close car park where rain water cannot enter, but it just like Titanic, no matter how many giant floating chamber in it, it still sank.

End up we at 1 Utama, having KFC for dinner, and walk around. Suddenly an idea of skating in Putrajaya appeared, so we went there to check out.

NO RAIN. NO RAIN. TOTALLY DRY IN PUTRAJAYA.

Xuan Hao is the first time went to Putrajaya skate, and seems like he can quite handle all drains and steps, congrates!

And at last I gain enough confident to do stair slide (is this the terms?) on big stairs!

Next time challenge Batu Caves Stairs, haha, kidding!

Funny thing we had yesterday was, 2 security guards warned us not to skate in Putrajaya.

Guard: "Sini tak boleh skate lah."

Hao: "Tak boleh ar?"

Guard: "Tak boleh, ini lantai, tak boleh." (pointing the hard pavement)

Me: "Bicycle boleh tak?" (Just to test him)

Guard: "Bicycle boleh." (lucky he said can, else how to explain so many bicycle sign along the road.)

Since we all are packing to go back, we don't argue more, but, hey! If they worry that our skates will break their pavement and lift up their tar road, so how about the motorbike they riding on the pavement? How about those vehicles with with weight more than 1500kg?

They just anti skaters, with no reason.

Secret Code
We think that the sky can listen to what we talking, if we said want to skate today, then it will rain; if we said we don't skate, then it won't rain. So next time if we want to skate, we will just use a secret sentence, "Tonight want to die ar?".

CNYE Lantern Night: I love the feeling of Success Together~

Yesterday was Chap Goh Meh, or 15th Days, and also the last day of Chinese New Year. The most important, I feel so relief after hard so much hard work.

Chinese New Year Extravaganza Lantern Night
Yesterday night, CLS(Chinese Language Society) held an unforgettable Lantern Night in MMU Incubator car park, and I am very happy to see the crowd.

Why?
I am a member in Promotion and Publicity team, and this team play a very important roles to make everyone knows about our events. What we did beside distribute flyers in campus, we also introduce the event door by door in hostel, house by house in all Cyberia block C, explain one by one, selling tickets and coupons hand by hand.

It's really a hard time, especially every night from 8pm to 12am, which make me exhausted everyday. I can feel how stressful is my director, Nana and Xuan Hao.

Lantern Night: It's worth.
On the event day, when seeing crowd joining us, buying coupons, having fun guessing lantern riddles, taking photos, enjoy performances, I know what we did is not wasted.

Pictures said everything.

DSC01049
Majiji(middle), my foreign friend~

DSC01043 Indian friend who join our event in writing wishes on lotus lantern.

Something worth to remember for this Lantern Night:

  • wearing skates in the campus almost every time during promoting our events.
  • promoting events door by door, person by person: Hi, sorry for disturbing, I am from MMU, Chinese Language Society, currently I am promoting our event call Lantern Night, on this Thursday night at Incubator car park, we got games, foods, drinks bla bla bla........ I repeat this at least 200 times, person by person.
  • Skipped few classes to hang around the booth, fun.
  • Know a lot of friends.
  • She said "Hi" to me for the first time in the Lantern Night! Oh no!

Something to the committees:
Last year during the organising committees(OC) recruitment, I was in there, but disqualify in final round; now I was thinking: if I success got the position, can I stand for this long? Can I handle the pressure? Can I make the event success? A lot of "Can I?". CNYE director Xuan Hao, I can see the pressure he bearing, and also other OCs. The planning was about 4 months long, and to cope with academic pressures like exam and class attendance. For all the small group meeting and workshop, I try to be there, try to test my endurance and ability to handle both events and academic result, and I know it's very difficult, really, one of it will sacrifice if imbalance effort distributed.

I really learn a lot in this event, thanks, although I am ranked with VIP(Very Irritating Person, to disturb people house by house.)

Here I introduce the Last event of CNYE: Mysterious Banquet
Date: 28th Feb 2007, Thursday
Time: 6pm~10pm
Venue: Grand Hall(first dinner in grand hall in MMU history!)

Price: RM35 per person for CLS Member, RM40 per person for non CLS member.

* if book the whole table, RM20 will be discounted and 10x vouchers of Pavilion Restaurant and Sunway Lagoon coupon will be given.

That night will base on the theme of Chinese's Myths and Legends, and will have 8 delicious Chinese foods on serve.

My Summary of 2007

So fast, just a close of eyes, 1 year or 365 days, passed. This year is not very very remarkable year, as some of my wishes not yet achieve. However, it's consider the highest achievement I been.

Here goes the Train, from January to December...

  1. January, VHanded.blogspot.com was born, while her successor, VHanded.space.live.com was abandoned, due to it's low flexibility towards customisation and control. My blog is not yet 1 year old!
  2. Windows Vista Launch, I joined that Vista Hunt event at LowYat Plaza, with team name Bill Gate's Son, although not winning anything, but our team's name seems to be the hot topic~
  3. Trinite 2007: The Last Temptation, a very high cost prom night organize by MMU's club and society, and I am a small working comm in there. Due to certain ass hole people in this event, I grew stronger and smarter and knowing my own weakness. Still need to thanks to him.
  4. MMU Vista Launch, in MMU Melaka Campus, again, the event's director make me learn that: don't be a loser and cocky like him!
  5. I went to the first PC Fair in my life! At KLCC, and realise that how crowded is this city.
  6. I received my first income from blogging, very happy!
  7. My first birthday Cake since 6 years old, I think, thanks to my roommate Tjun Kit and my gang in campus... So touch, but that day I was not happy...
  8. June is the first month I move to Cyberjaya Campus after study at Melaka for Foundation for 1 year. Then I realise, Cyberjaya's living cost is so so high... I can't breath!
  9. The first time I broadcast my voice to the world, thanks to MMU DJ Club, I got the chance to be a on-air DJ. I admit that I am not a professional DJ, mainly due to my deep voice and style, but I very thankful to let me this opportunity to know myself and enjoy~
  10. Malaysia 50th Independent Day Celebration, I am one of the marching member~ Represent PIKOM, and earn RM100 allowance. This is the first time I put attention to Merdeka celebration and towards national affair.
  11. Putrajaya Boulevard Skate is so fun! This is the first time I been there to skate with Su, Hao, and Kok. I started to addict to inline skating.
  12. This is not directly related to me, but Al Gore win the Nobel Peace Prize, of course I very happy! As an environmentalist, this is a good encouragement to all of us on this planet, to love our only house before too late.
  13. My new dream machine! I name him HungryPC, a cute name, but I don't do downloading with him(I respect privacy~)
  14. Christmas Eve at Bintang make me hate KL more. some of the moralless place(and people) make me sick...
  15. My new Wife! Is actually a Seba Skate, but this is just the beginning of Slalom Skates.

New Year 2008 should be much much better than this year, and have to. Glad that my whole family and friends are in good and healthy condition now, and all the time~

I have a simple New Year wish, and I realise only me and her can make this happen...

My new Wife!

Sorry to attract you all here with this "attractive" title, the "wife" is not really a wife, but just is my new pair of skates, Seba High!

stand view

Is she beautiful? Sexy? Of course, imported from Singapore, with all money I earned from blogging~

**noted: this post may seem boring to some sportcellless people.

I am so excited to write about this post, as I waited this skates for almost 1 month. Thanks to Kok Min who get it for me. This is the last size 7 in Hvper Sport, Singapore, and won't be ordered anymore, as new model is coming out(more expensive, not enough money).

What is Seba Skates?
Sebastian Laffargue, or Seba, is the designer of this skates. He is crowned as the Slalom King of Paris, and with his skater profile, he design the best skates for slalom.(What is slalom?)

The first glance...
Micro Skate Box
The skates box, not very cool, very simple.

Seba High Black
My wife in the box. Came with 3 pairs of Heel Dampers and alley keys.

Seba High Black Side
Side view of Seba High Black.

foot strap
To my surprise, this pair of skates are much tighter than I thought, as it still new, not yet adapt to my foot's shape yet. Another reason is the Foot strap in the picture above, which make it feel very tight.

HDS
Heel Damping System, a pad that put below your heel to absorb impact when doing jumping stunt.

front wheel
Frame length 231mm, very short.

wheel with screw
I assembly my skate wheel. See the screw is so special, straight twist into the frame instead into another female bolt.

The wheels are labelled 85A, which is consider the hardest wheel in market(maybe there is some harder, but 85A is standard for hard wheels).

The bearings are ABEC 7, which is so fast for me who use only ABEC 3 previously. ABEC is the standard to measure the energy required to spin the wheels, the higher the value, the less energy required.

on skate
Skate On! So tight! But maybe 2 or 3 weeks later will adapt to my feet.

Seba signature
Seba's signature! (Although is stitched on...)

First time ON....
I found it's so difficult to wear on it compare to my previous skates, which is size 10 (my feet size is only 7!), with my current size 7 skates.

I don't really make a real skates after open the box, as outside is raining; but in-house testing, I very satisfy with the maneuverity and the tight fit feeling. Only 1 thing not nice, is the new wheels, it's too much grip! Wait until I wear it down to road, should be feel better.

Today's quote:
Don't rain la!

It has been continuous for more than 5 months! Since when raining in Malaysia has no season? Global Warming is becoming serious and serious......

Why you pull away my Ferrari?!!

DSC00439

Why you pull away my Ferrari? Put it down! I just simply driving while wearing skates, is that fault in Malaysia? I don't know that!?

Kidding, this is just a equipment for a movie shooting group at Putrajaya yesterday night, while I skated with friends and members from Skateline. It's a Ferrari! But I not sure whether it's just a casing or a real car...

Anyway, nice chance to be there, and I think this is just another Malaysia's Mat Rempit movie......

I withdraw money from PayPal

So excited! I am going to use my first batch of money from blogging to get myself a slalom skates(what is slalom?), Micro Seba High!

And to share the process during withdrawal from PayPal to my Visa, I took a few screen shot, click to enlarge:

paypal_1

paypal_2

paypal_3
withdrawal limit is the amount I can withdraw yet in this year, because my account is not premier account which can do unlimited withdrawal.

just 3 easy steps can withdraw the money from PayPal.

What I not satisfy is:

  • 5 USD for a transaction.
  • 5~7 working days to complete the transaction.

No matter what, I am so excited to wait for Kok's brother to get the skate from Singapore for me, I am so crazy with it!

sebahighkq6
Seba high, waiting to ride on you at maneuver through the cones!

Saturday Night Skates!

Yesterday night was my first time to SNS, Saturday Night Skates, a skating event by Skateline that held monthly. To my surprise, there is no rain, yahoo!

We reach Damansara by 8pm, and equipped ourselves. Only VHanded, Su, and How were the 'representatives' from MMU.

DSC00242

DSC00244

OK Let's Go!
DSC00236
After Steve the Black explained the route and giving lucky draws, we skated!

Along the road straight up, we reached a residential area, and there is a security guard blocked us, then this is the conversation between Steve and security(not exactly same word by word):

Steve: Encik, kita mau masuk cari kawan saje, boleh tak?

guard: cari siapa?

Steve: XXX, kita masuk dan cakap 'hi', then keluar.

guard: berapa orang?

Steve: ini saje.

guard: ok la.

Then we skated in, but do not find 'friend', we just skated round and round, fool the guard.

That's a very very fun community event, I learned a lot of facts during the few hours, and thanks to Kelvin who told me that Seba skates at Singapore can be obtained with 20% discount if I am member! Few more sponsored post to go. Seba High, one day I will ride on you and maneuver through the cone!
